Nane Ghazaryan, Deputy Head of the Cadastre Committee, is participating in the 14th session of the Working Party on Land Administration (WPLA) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, Switzerland, from April 28 to 29, 2025.

The UNECE was established in 1974 by the United Nations Economic and Social Council with the aim of promoting Pan-European economic integration and fostering the expansion of cooperation among its member states.

56 countries are members of UNECE, including Republic of Armenia. More than 70 professional and other non-governmental organizations participate in the activities of the Commission. The working group meetings are held biennially to develop policies and outline key directions in the field of land resource management.

Nane Ghazaryan participated in the election of the working group leader, two deputy leaders, and the members of the bureau.

The participants reviewed the implementation of the Working Party on Land Administration (WPLA) work plan since its thirteenth session in 2023 and established the work plan for 2026–2027.

The discussions primarily focused on issues related to the security of real estate tenure within the context of global megatrends such as digital transformation, urbanization, climate change, and the development of interconnected business ecosystems.

During the session, the Deputy Head of the Committee had a presentation on the “Cadastral Map Correction in Armenia: Bridging Geospatial Innovation and Legal Frameworks’’.
