Brussels: Training courses "Geoinformation Systems during Natural Disasters"
From December 5 to 8, the "Geoinformation Systems during Natural Disasters" training courses holds at the Vrije Universitet in Brussels.
Mkrtich Mkrtchyan; head of the Land Management Division and Marine Sahakyan; Assistant to the Head of the Committee, participate in the training courses organized within the framework of the "GeoTAK" program. Specialists from Armenia and Kyrgyzstan participate in the project, which is aimed at developing the capacities of higher education.
The leading foreign experts presented the features of data management during natural disasters (earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes), their connection with maps, and the electronic software used in that process.
The project participants actively discussed and prepared materials for the implementation of a joint inter-university scientific program (PHD).
Within the framework of the four-day visit, the electronic EM-DAT international database of natural disasters was presented to the participants in detail.
The participants also visited the European civil protection and humanitarian aid operations center and the European Parliament.
