CIS Interstate Council 44th session was held in Yerevan

Armenia, as a chair country of the CIS Interstate Council of Geodesy, Cartography, Cadastre and Earth Remote Sensing, hosted the CIS Interstate Council 44th session’ participants in Yerevan from October 24 to 26.

The delegations of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan visited to Armenia.

RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan greeted the participants of the session, congratulated on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the CIS Council creation, wishing meaningful and constructive discussions.

Suren Tovmasyan - head of the Cadastre Committee, welcomed guests and highly evaluated the importance of active cooperation within the framework of the CIS Council and directing joint efforts to the future development of the sector and overcoming existing challenges.

The leaders of the delegations presented works done during 2021-2022, the achievements and innovations of the sector, and heads of the working groups summarized the meeting results held during the year.

The issues related to the spatial data infrastructure, the concept of creating the CIS geoportal and the implementation of the Interstate project were discussed.

The session was concluded with the Protocol signing, which defined the directions of activities for 2022-2023.

The Republic of Belarus was elected as 45th session chair country of the CIS Interstate Council of Geodesy, Cartography, Cadastre and Earth Remote Sensing.
