NATIONAL ASSEMBLY: DIGITAL CADASTRE

During the October 15 session of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, Committee Head Suren Tovmasyan presented the proposed amendments to the Law on State Registration of Property Rights.

Digitalization work has been underway at the Cadastre Committee for quite some time. With the introduction of certain tools, it will become possible to sign and submit certain types of contracts for state registration of rights through an automated electronic system.

Every citizen who owns real estate, by logging into the electronic system and verifying their identity through “YES EM” will be able to access their personal account section.

The proposed regulations are planned to be implemented for a period of one and a half years, with the aim of thoroughly testing the electronic systems.

Suren Tovmasyan responded to the deputies’ questions, also touching upon issues concerning the registration of unauthorized constructions, real estate sale transactions, and the conclusion of new lease agreements.

The initiative was discussed in the committee session in the first reading and received a positive conclusion.
