Accounting and registration of geographical names of all regions of the Republic of Armenia and Yerevan is being carried out. The process of renaming existing geographic names is organized in cases of restoration of historical geographic names, elimination of unfavorable, repeated, and foreign names.

The proposed names are etymologically analyzed by the Professional Commission of Renaming and Naming Geographical Names of the Republic of Armenia, which is operating attached to the Cadastre Committee.

Specialists of the Cadastre Committee are involved in the adjustment and standardization of the names of intra-residential geographical objects: avenues, streets, passages, districts.
